A blend of 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, this has aromas of French oak, scorched earth, blue flowers and camphor. It's austere and lean in terms of fruit richness, offering roasted coffee bean, toasted nuts and suggestions of orange rind and prune. Assertive, rather astringent tannins leave a firm, mouthdrying close.
