At 117.4 proof it’s got a kick, but I feel drinks below its proof for the overall heat I’m experiencing. With the youth of the distillate you’re getting a non-crazy amount of oak, but it’s enough that it balances out the youth. The first thing you’ll pick up is the sweetness. The notes from Freddie describe it as “Bright finish with a robust mouthfeel and welcoming sweetness” and for once I think this is spot on. It’s sweet in a natural, non-cloying way. It’s bright at first, almost citrusy.
